The Brownstown Central cross country teams finished their year with an awards program on Monday night.

It was another great year for the Braves with many runners earning varsity letters, conference honors and state and team distinctions.

Nathan Koch and Jazzlynn Yeadon were named the teams’ most valuable runners. Both runners earned all-Mid-Southern Conference honors this year, and Koch was one of two members on the 17-minute club — Mason Kellogg was the other — while Yeadon was the only member of the 21-minute club.

Dylan Wischmeier and Karcyn Trueblood earned BC’s most improved runner awards, and Andrew Wheeles and Grace Garland took home mental attitude awards.

Garland and Kellogg also were named to the all-conference honorable mention team.

Wheeles and Trey Hackman made the academic all-state team.

Zoe Fountain, Abbie Reynolds, Emma Winks, Kylee Wischmeier and Garland all earned academic all-state honorable mention.

The Braves both finished sixth at the Brown County Sectional but qualified five runners for the Columbus North Regional.

On the girls’ side, Fountain, Garland, Winks, Wischmeier and Yeadon all made it to regional. For the boys, Wheeles, Kellogg, Hackman, Koch and Clayton Barger all qualified.

The boys finished the year 112-58 and were fourth in the MSC, while girls were 104-59 and fifth in the conference.
