Mildred Schroer, 98, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Lutheran Community Home. She was born in Jackson County to the late Fred and Emilie (VonDielingen) Wischmeier.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Zion Lutheran Church (1501 Gaiser Dr, Seymour, IN 47274) on Tuesday, November 5 at 11 a.m. with Revs. Jeffrey Stuckwisch and Bradley Akey officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and at Zion Lutheran Church on Tuesday after 10 am until time of service.

On September 7, 1941, she married Oscar Carl Schroer, he preceded her in death on December 13, 2011.

Mildred was a founding member of Zion Lutheran Church. She had been employed at both Excello Shirt Factory and the Gerwin Shoe Factory. She was also a homemaker and member of Church Ladies Aid.

She is survived by her children, Diana Surenkamp, Ellen (Robert) Smallwood, Stanley Schroer; grandson, Nicolas ( Megan) Smallwood; great-grandchildren, Austin Smallwood and Ashlyn Smallwood; step granddaughter, Kimberly Felix; step great grandchildren, Sean Mitchell (Morgan) Riley and Natalie (Justin) Heiner; step great-great-grandchildren, Lucy and Henry Riley, Landon Kremer, Garrett, Gavyn and Greyson Heiner as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Herbert and Elmer Wischmeier.
