A Seymour man and a Jennings County woman were arrested Tuesday after police found drugs during a traffic stop, authorities report.

Charles Frank Williams, 38, and Autumn N. Officer, 38, of North Vernon each face preliminary felony charges of conspiracy to deal methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. Officer also faces preliminary misdemeanors of possession of paraphernalia and possession of a device to defeat a urine test.

The incident that led to the arrests started when Indiana State Police Trooper Randel Miller conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 65 near the 43-mile-marker south of Seymour, according to a news release from Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, public information officer for the Versailles Post.

Miller said he became suspicious of criminal activity during the stop and deployed K-9 Officer Jinx, who alerted to illegal drugs in the Chevrolet Impala driven by Williams.
