Medora Town Council: Robert Thompson Q and A

0

What do you think you can bring to the town council?

I think I can bring my experience dealing with people. I’ve found out ways that the town can receive money over this eight-year period that will help the town. I’d like to run this time and try to finish up some of the projects that we’ve been trying to do.

What’s the most pressing issue facing the town at this time, and how do you plan to address it?

The most pressing issue right now is we’re about to lose our store and filling station. That’s one of the main objectives of this town. Maybe they don’t go there and do all of their trading and get all of their fuel there, but it’s a convenience. The town needs to pursue entertaining other people that might be interested in coming in here and opening up a store or something of that nature.

What should the town do to position itself for growth and development?

The first thing is to present the town. I believe that’s something that we have to continue to do. We have to continue to improve whatever we have to make it more presentable to somebody else that may want to move here.

How would you help the council be fiscally responsible with taxpayers’ money?

Ensure that it’s spent appropriately, not just for one or two but for all. Utilize it to our best capability to get what we can get with what we have.
