Seymour City Council District 3: Chad Hubbard Q and A

0

What are your thoughts on annexation and TIF districts?

This is a hot topic right now, and I will answer this question with the utmost honesty. I can not comfortably give an opinion into it without further research to decide if annexation and TIF is needed

Do you think the city needs to pursue solar energy? Why or why not?

I believe it is something we should look into and if we, as a city, see fit, we can discuss how to move forward.

What do you think the city needs to do to improve public safety?

We have an amazing police force I believe we need to train and give all our officers all the resources they need to better serve our community.

Are there any infrastructure (roads/sewer) projects you think the city needs to pursue?

As a council, we know our sewer systems are outdated and have to look at future plans to update these systems. Will this be something that easily done? No, but with the right people around the table anything is possible.

What improvements do you think need to be made to our parks?

The only thing I would like to see is more handicap-accessible playground equipment.

Do you think any changes need to be made to the public transportation system?

I believe this system does need to be looked at. Throughout the years our demographic has changed and so has our population needs. Let’s get the council together to discuss how we can better serve our community with transportation and move forward from there.

What ways do you feel the city should increase revenue and/or cut expenses?

I do not currently know the budget for Seymour. This would take time to review and possibly revise to see what we can add or cut to save money in general. Seymour is a beautiful place and I think we should continue to invest in Seymour.
