A Seymour man faces 10 felony charges of possession of child pornography as a result of a recent investigation by the Indiana State Police.

Dylan James Hatfield, 18, of Seymour was arrested Wednesday by the state police and booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown without bond pending his initial Jackson Circuit Court appearance.

Detectives with the state police’s crimes against children and cyber crimes units arrested Hatfield after two search warrants were served at Jackson County residences, according to a news release from Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, public information officer for the Versailles Post.

Wheeles said the investigation began when state police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

As a result of that tip, detectives served search warrants at residences in the 10900 block of North County Road 525E and the 800 block of South Pine Street in Seymour.

Hatfield, who had lived at both residences, was arrested as a result of the investigation and taken to the jail.
