SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Carole S. Chambers, 82, of Seymour, Indiana entered into rest Monday, October 21st, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

The Crothersville, Indiana native was born November 19th, 1936 to the late Harold Bowman and Freeda Rogers Bowman. She married John Chambers on July 3, 1998 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Carole loved singing gospel music with her husband and was considered to be an animal enthusiast. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was proud to serve as clerk to the General while serving in the US Army. She was a proud member of the American Legion posts of Seymour, Indiana and Phoenix, Arizona. She also served as a Nurse for many years who cared for many patients during her tenure.

She is survived by her husband John Chambers of Seymour, IN; three children, Mary Chambers of Tacoma, WA, Charles Chambers of Phoenix, AZ, and Evelyn Morrison (James) of Franklin, IN; 11 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Henry “Mack” Chambers; one daughter, Edith Meade; her parents, Harold and Freeda Bowman; and one brother, Roger Bowman.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Seymour Community Church, 1023 N. O’Brien St. Seymour, Indiana with Rev. Claude Fouts officiating. Carole will be laid to rest at National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.

In Carole’s honor, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post # 89, Seymour, Indiana or Red Sky Resuce, 8305 Dryden Rd., Medora, IN 47260.
