Crothersville Town Council: Geoffrey Walker Q and A

0

What do you think you can bring to the town council?

If elected, I will bring a fresh perspective as well as new ideas. I will listen to the concerns of the town residents and work with other council members to get things accomplished.

What’s the most pressing issue facing the town at this time, and how do you plan to address it?

The most pressing concern for our community is safety and cleanliness. The sidewalks in our town are in grim condition. They are unsafe for those that use canes or walkers. Town ordinances concerning lawn height, vehicles and trash go ignored, causing the town to look unsightly. If elected, I plan to make sure that town ordinances are followed.

What are your thoughts on annexation for Sims Bark Co. and any other future development in the town?

Businesses such as Sims Bark Co brings jobs to our community, which can also bring more residents. I think businesses choosing our area to build only help build up our town. Annexation is a great opportunity for the town of Crothersville. I think it’s a great deal to be annexed so that the money can help the redevelopment commission have funds to do things for the community that need to be addressed accordingly.

How would you help the council be fiscally responsible with taxpayers’ money?

The town’s budget needs to be carefully reviewed monthly. We need to look for areas where we can make cuts to help fund projects such as new sidewalks. Safety issues should always come first. We also need to make sure we are applying for the appropriate grants.
