Local cross country runners earn accolades 

Several Jackson County cross country runners were honored by the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (IATCCC).

Three athletes made the academic all-state team. They are: Makenna Sunbury (Seymour), Trey Hackman (Brownstown Central), Andrew Wheeles (Brownstown Central) and Luke Bane (Seymour).

Making academic all-state honorable mention are: Zoe Fountain (Brownstown Central), Grace Garland (Brownstown Central), Abbie Reynolds (Brownstown Central), Emma Winks (Brownstown Central), Grace Rennekamp (Seymour) and Connor Harriss (Seymour).

Jackson County tennis players make all-district team

The Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association (IHSTECA) elected Seymour’s Vincent Camboulas and Isaac Hardin to the all-district team for District 8. 

In addition, Seymour’s Braden Handloser and Brownstown Central’s Kelian East made made the academic all-state team.
