Loyal Devoir Society meets at Seymour church

The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church met Sept. 24 at the Seymour church.

Paula Stafford called the meeting to order and thanked Group 4 for being the hostess.

The tables were decorated in an autumn theme and potted mums in various colors with streamers down each table. If a member found a checkmark on the bottom of their plate, they won a pot of mums.

Carolyn Bruce gave devotions on Labor Day and discussed how everyone needs to work even beyond retirement.

Judy McDonald read the minutes from June and August, and they were approved. Betty Guinn gave the treasurer’s report, and it was approved.

The Christmas dinner will be Dec. 3 at The Pines. Reservations need to be in soon.

Discussion on a fundraiser followed. Barb Bentley suggested selling cookbooks.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.

The next meeting will be Oct. 22.
