Mr. Jackie Wells Matthews, 74, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Seymour to the late John and Mildred (Wells) Matthews.

A remembrance service will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 9 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hood officiating. Burial will follow at First Marion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.

On March 20, 2011, he married Susan (Gunter) Matthews; she survives. He had earned an MBA from Butler University. He owned various businesses in Seymour including JMA Rail. He was a member of ASLRRA.

Jackie is survived by his wife; children, Lora (Kirk) Fausett, Kimberly Matthews, Jason Matthews; stepchildren, Susan Stumpf, Robert Rice; several grandchildren; sister, Naomi Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
