The Seymour Oktoberfest recently awarded Community Progress Grants.
A total of $3,000 was distributed to six local nonprofit groups and organizations.
Recipients include The Arc of Jackson County to expand access at local parks for people with disabilities, Mental Health America of Jackson County to continue to offer programming to preschool-aged children, Southern Indiana Hispanic Services to offer translation and referrals for Spanish-speaking residents, Jackson County 4-H Shooting Sports Club to purchase supplies for a new 4-H archery program, Boys and Girls Club of Seymour for bows and arrows for a youth archery program and Child Care Network for GAL/CASA volunteers to attend a training conference.
Requests for the fall grant cycle are due by Dec. 31. There will be $3,000 in grant money available again.
