The Gamma Tau chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society met Sept. 17 at Central Christian Church in Seymour.

Dinner was served by the youth of the church with the proceeds going for future mission trips.

The state president’s theme for this year is "Celebrate the Society," so the chapter will be celebrating something every meeting. At this meeting, they celebrated a "New Year Together" with a "Get to Know You Birthday Party." Members sat with other members who had the same birthday month. They talked about how many years they had taught school and where they had taught.

Jan Brock was chairwoman for the meeting. Donations were collected to give to Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Pantry to buy birthday party supplies for children residing there on their birthday.

Twelve members had perfect attendance. Nancy Cherry was given the attendance award of a gift certificate to Cracker Barrel. "Glad you were here" gifts were given to Nancy Durham, Sandy Melloncamp, and Mary Jane Lasater.

The next meeting will be Oct. 15 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour. Jackie Hill will be the speaker.
