Girls Soccer

Owls blank Franklin

Seymour girls soccer team won 3-0 over Franklin behind great combination play. 

Alyssa Perry, Lille Wessel and Elizabeth Hartman all scored for Seymour with Aidan Hiester and Brooke Trinkle assisting on two of the goals. 

Boys Soccer

Cougars draw, fall in two games at Cougar Cup

The Cougars fell to Hauser 4-1 in the opening round as Kash Siefker scored in the second half after the Cougars trailed 2-0 at the half.

Trinity held a 3-2 lead late against Franklin County and had to settle for a 3-3 tie as the Wildcats scored a late goal.

Sawyer Doggett had two goals for the Cougars, including a goal off a corner kick.

Micah Baumgartel also had a goal, and Jacob Sabotin had two assists.

Cross Country

Braves finish ninth at Ted Fox Invite

The Brownstown Central girls and boys cross country teams placed ninth at the Ted Fox Invite at Bedford North Lawrence on Saturday.

In the boys’ race, the Braves scored 285 with an average time of 18 minutes and 53 seconds and were led by Nathan Koch’s 29th-place finish at 17:45.

Following Koch were: Mason Kellogg (53rd), Andrew Wheeles (65th), Trey Hackman (68th), Clayton Barger (71st), Cameron Day (74th) and Dylan Wischmeier (97th).

In the girls’ race, BC scored 308 with an average time of 24:35 and were paced by Jazzlyn Yeadon’s 51st-place finish at 23:37.

Trailing Yeadon were: Grace Garland (52nd), Emma Winks (64th), Kylee Wischmeier (80th), Zoe Fountain (81st), Aubree VanCoutren (95th) and Karcyn Trueblood (103rd).
