BROWNSTOWN

Basil Oliver Robertson, 93, of Brownstown, died on Monday, September 23, 2019 at 8:15 a.m. at the Hoosier Christian Village. He had been ill for 9 months.

Basil was a WWII Veteran-82nd Airborne. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Brownstown and the Brownstown Christian Church. He was a Farmer and loved growing a huge garden and sharing his crop with family and friends. He also loved to fish.

Basil was born on February 4, 1926 in Little York to the late Arthur & Nina Huckleberry Robertson. On January 22, 1949, in Salem, IN, he married Joan J. Jackson and she survives in Brownstown.

Other survivors include his 3 children, Dana Ash of New Castle, IN, Jeanne (John) Spray of Greenville, SC and Jon (Suzie) Robertson of Eaton, OH; 1 sister, Bonnie McCauley of Little York; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 2 sisters preceded in death-Marjorie Garriott & Marie Garriott.

Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, September 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home with Doug Pogue officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
