Mr. Daniel “Dan” Joseph Vogel, 53, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Kindred Hospital. He was born in Columbus to the late Carl Vogel and Winifred (Gadd) Vogel, she survives.

Funeral prayer services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, September 21 at 11 a.m. with Deacon Mike East officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service Saturday after 9 am until time of service.

Dan was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Seymour High School, class of 1985.

On April 20, 2011, he married Carolene Johnston; she survives.

He worked at Kroger as a meat cutter. He enjoyed UK football, listening to country music and vacationing at Smoky Mountain National Park in Gatlinburg where they would visit waterparks. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing video games and golfing.

Dan is survived by his mother; wife, Carolene Vogel; children, Colby (Sasha) Vogel, Katey Vogel; grandchildren, CJ, Ethan; step-children, Tim White, Lisa Hagan, Ricky Hagan; step-granddaughter, Madison Hagan; sisters, Peggy (Cyrus) Adams, Debbie (Bob) Matney as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandson, Oliver Vogel; sister, Pam Bowling.

Memorials may be written to American Juvenile Diabetes Association or St. Ambrose Catholic Church School, in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
