CROTHERSVILLE

Norma Jean Lucas, 85, of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 9:53 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Scottsburg, IN.

Norma was born on Friday, July 27, 1934 at home in Crothersville. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Pheral) Weddle, who are both deceased.

She was a 1952 Crothersville High School graduate. In the year of 1955, at the First Baptist Church in Crothersville, she married Alfred Eugene Lucas, who passed away on October 2, 1996.

Norma Jean was a homemaker, loving mother, caretaker, and devoted her life to her daughter, Cindy. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Crothersville and enjoyed quilting and sewing.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Sue Lucas of Crothersville, IN; a son, Joseph (Connie) Lucas of Austin, IN; 2 grandchildren, Shaleigh (Baylan) Gardner of Scottsburg, IN and Brennan (Camry) Lucas of Jeffersonville, IN; 2 great grandchildren, Brynlyn Gardner and Maxie Faye Lucas; and 3 siblings, Edwin (Carloyn) Weddle of Crothersville, IN, Dr. Gordon (Mary Jane) Weddle of Campbellsville, KY, and Ruth Baldridge of Fulerton, CA.

Pastor David Schill and grandson Brennan Lucas will conduct funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
