Five members and two guests of Seymour City Extension Homemakers Club met Aug. 13 for a pitch-in meal at the home of Nancy Hammond. Carlee and Donna Persinger were guests.

Hammond, who is president, distributed June and August Tell-A-Homemakers. She reported that the Fall District Meeting will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 at Brownstown Christian Church. Sept. 6. Cost is $8 per person. More details are in the August Tell-A-Homemaker.

Hammond also announced the county bake sale fundraiser will be Nov. 2 during the Immanuel Lutheran School craft show. Baked goods should be delivered to the school between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. that day. The bake sale funds the $500 scholarship — awarded each year to a Jackson County high school senior pursuing a career in the health and human sciences field.

Carlee Persinger shared her experiences while serving on a mission trip in Africa through World Race and Impact Africa. She served Jan. 24 through April 29 in Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Her group worked teaching children and assisting in the communities. She will be attending Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri, this fall.

Janet Works won the door prize. The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Pizza Palace.
