Mrs. Wanda Sue Dobyns, 75, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Seymour to the late Hubert Eugene and Eva Marjory (Riley) Sparks.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at The Tabernacle (301 Indianapolis Ave, Seymour, IN 47274) where Mrs. Dobyns was a member on Saturday, August 24 at 1 p.m. with Bro. Larry Arrowood and Bro. Aaron Arrowood officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at The Tabernacle on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

On October 16, 1964, she married Paul Allen Dobyns. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 30, 2013.

She moved from Seymour to Green City, Missouri in 1994 and returned to Jackson County in 2013. She was a good and faithful servant of the Lord for 47 years and was known for her “Great Faith”. She loved working in her yard with her beautiful flowers, quilting, reading and building puzzles. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Clarence) Cornwell; grandchildren, Megan (Michael) Clark, Meranda (Devin) Hawkins, Shalynn (Daniel) Vailes, Ashley Dietz; great-grandson, Leland Paul Michael Clark; sister, Linda Fleetwood; son-in-law, Greg Dietz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Cindy Dietz; brother, Hubert Eugene Sparks, Jr.; and sister, Shirley Donahue.

The family requests memorials be written to Pay It Forward Jackson County, a foundation caring for financial needs of those with cancer in our community established in memory of Mrs. Dobyn’s niece, Elizabeth Sparks. Memorials may be made in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
