Postponements

Storms postponed a few events on Tuesday. Seymour girls golf’s Hoosier Hills Conference tri-meet with Bedford North Lawrence and Floyd Central and Brownstown Central’s season opener with Jennings County were both postponed.

Makeup dates have yet to be determined.

Volleyball

Braves batter Eastern (Pekin)

Brownstown Central walloped Mid-Southern Conference rival Eastern on Tuesday night to open their season with a dominating score of 25-1, 25-8, 25-11.

Addie Wilkerson led the Braves in the kills department with 11 while Kendra McCory and Keeli Darlage had 10 and nine, respectively.

Riley Nuss was perfect on her serves, going 25-for-25 with six aces. McCory was also perfect in the serves department, going 9-for-9 with two aces.

Owls down Columbus North in straight sets

Seymour started the year off right with a straight-sets win over Columbus North.

It was tight in the first set with Seymour winning 25-21. It got a little easier in the second and third, winning each of those 25-18 and 25-14.

Olivia Fish did it all for the Owls on Tuesday night, leading the team in kills with 14 and was 20-21 on her serves with two aces. Maggie Connell also had double-digit kills with 10 and Hayley Harpe had two aces as well.
