NORTH VERNON

Dale Lee Thompson, 75, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:01 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Majestic Health Care Center in North Vernon.

Born October 22, 1943, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary Catherine (Hazard) Thompson. He married Danilee Breitwieser on May 1, 1993, at the First Christian Church in North Vernon; she survives.

Dale was a 1961 graduate of North Vernon High School and worked on the assembly line for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 32 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Church of Christ in Florence. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and using a backhoe.

Surviving with his wife, Danilee Thompson, is a daughter, Amy E. Lewis of North Vernon; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Marie Ann Lewis and Kalissa Laney Thompson, both of North Vernon; sisters, Becky Thompson, Denise (David) Keith, and Myra (Bruce) Fischvogt, all of Scipio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregory D. Thompson on August 14, 2014; and brother, Bruce Thompson on December 1, 2010.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Roy Duckworth officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Dale to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
