Mr. Mitchell Walter McAdams, 58, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mitch was born in Ruston, Louisiana in 1961 to Roy and Daisy (Williamson) McAdams. He moved to Seymour when he was in 5th grade. He married Suzanne Bateman in 1987 in Seymour.

He was a graduate of Seymour High School and an active member of First Baptist Church, He taught Sunday School, served as Deacon, served on the Building Committee, and went on several youth mission trips. He graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Business. He worked for Cargill Salt for 27 years, first in plant operations and later in sales. He won many awards for being the best at what he did. His job moved his family to Alabama, Cincinnati, Lexington, and later back to Seymour.

He is survived by his wife, his son, Mitchell Zackary (Erin) McAdams and his daughter, Taylor Ann McAdams, his brothers, Doug (Kristie), Steve (Diane), and Garry McAdams. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law, Ruth and Bill Bateman, sisters-in-law, Mary Jay (Joe) Rook and Holly (Jim) Bennett, brother-in-law, Troy (Kristin) Bateman and special caregiver, Jan Gibson, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his service dog, Jewels.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Sherry McAdams.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Cochran and Rev. Dr. Jeremy Myers officiating. Private graveside service will follow at a later date.

Friends may visit at Voss Chapel on Monday, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday at First Baptist Church from noon until the time of the service.
