Melvin Wayne and Marjorie Ardelle Bishop of Crothersville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Aug. 4 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown given by their children.
Melvin and the former Marjorie Spencer were married Aug. 16, 1969, at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Fred Mildenburger officiated.
They are the parents of four children, Joanna Goens of Vallonia, Frank (Lisa) Bishop of Reddington, Robert Bishop of Crothersville and Jon (Nola) Bishop of Crothersville. They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Melvin is retired from Brownstown Central Community School Corp. as a bus driver and still farms.
Marjorie is retired from Regal Industries, where she worked as a secretary for 18 years, and Showbound Express, where she worked for 14 years.
