CROTHERSVILLE
Wanda Rose Butler, 86, of Crothersville, IN, passed away 10:10 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Schneck Memorial Hospital in Seymour, IN.
Wanda was born Wednesday, March 22, 1933 in Kentucky , she was the daughter of Charles Ratliff and Lucille (Hargett) Lutes, who preceded her in death.
Wanda was a 1951 Crothersville High School graduate and 1954 Methodist School of Nursing graduate.
On December 26, 1954 at the First Baptist Church in Crothersville, Wanda married Gordon K. Butler, who survives in Crothersville, IN. This December, Gordon and Wanda would have celebrated 65 years of blessed years together.
Wanda was a registered nurse, a homemaker while raising her 4 girls, and retired as the “bread lady” from Nolting’s Super Valu in Crothersville.
Wanda was a member of Crothersville United Methodist Church, Phi Beta Psi Sorority, enjoyed monthly card club, the mystery trips that Gordon planned for her, Leon, and Benale, the B-M-W reunions, going to the library, was an avid Purdue fan, loved the babies of the family, and attending her grandchildren’s events.
Other survivors include 4 daughters, Shere Coomler of Crothersville, IN, Becky Butler of Crothersville, IN, Kelly (Dale) Schmelzle of Crothersville, IN Kristy (Greg) Wright of Greenwood, IN, 12 grandchildren, Amy K. Schleter, Sara Salas, Eric Prewitt, Julie Lewis, Derick Lewis, Lea Ann Boicourt, Erin Burns, Jessica Mount, Laiken Howard, Paityn Kelly, Daniela Wright, and Trevor Wright, 19 great grandchildren.
Pastor Brynen Chitwood will conduct funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
