CROTHERSVILLE
Dorothy Elizabeth Hoevener, 96, of Crothersville, IN, a resident of Seymour Crossing, passed away peacefully at 6:09 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019.
Born Saturday, November 18, 1922 in Jackson County, IN, she was the daughter of William Thiele and Clara (Werkamp) Thiele.
Dorothy was baptized into the Christian faith March 21, 1937 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown.
On May 11, 1941, she married Wilbur W. Hoevener, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. John’s Sauers Lutheran Church. Dorothy was a farm wife and loved everything about farm life, especially gardening, taking care of her chickens, and delivering eggs to the surrounding families in the community. She was also known to be a fabulous and wonderful cook.
Survivors include 5 sons, Harold (Melba) Hoevener of Crothersville, IN, Donald (Jackie) Hoevener of Paris Crossing, IN, Wilbur Lee (Ann) Hoevener of Crothersville, IN, Paul (Barbie) Hoevener of Brownstown, IN, and Alan (Mitzi) Hoevener, 16 grandchildren, Linda (Mike) Jent, Teresa (Robert) Davidson, Kevin (Melanie) Hoevener, Greg (Angie) Hoevener, Marty (Trina) Hoevener, Marsha Hoevener, Janet (Shannon) Williams, Brian Hoevener, Bradley (Tammy) Hoevener, Bethany Ross, Wendy (Greg) Shaw, Shannon VonDielingen, Marcus (Deanna) Hoevener, Jennifer (James) Harris, Jeremy (Rachel) Hoevener, Erik (Kelly) Hoevener, 37 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, and 1 daughter-in-law, Joan Hoevener.
She was preceded in death by 1 son, Marvin Hoevener, and 1 granddaughter, Lisa Hoevener, 1 great grandson, Lincoln Hoevener, 1 brother, Robert Thiele, 1 sister, Norma Jean Thiele.
Pastor Craig Mulbach and Pastor Ralph Blomenberg will conduct funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at St. John’s Sauers Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville and after 9:00 AM on August 2, 2019.
