Schneck Medical Center in Seymour has received Press Ganey’s Survey Solutions 2018 Workplace of the Year Award.

The annual award recognizes hospitals and health systems that have achieved the highest levels of employee engagement coupled with below-average levels of employee disengagement within the Survey Solutions national database.

Schneck is one of only 45 hospitals in the nation to receive the 2018 award.

“The greatest asset of any organization is its staff, and I am proud to work with over 1,000 dedicated professionals at Schneck,” said Kathy Covert, vice president of workforce and organizational development.

“The honor we have received from Press Ganey is a true reflection of every staff member’s commitment to our patients, families and to each another,” she said. “They are without a doubt what make Schneck one of the best places to work in the region and in the nation.”

Schneck, like other organizations on the list, goes above and beyond to keep its employees happy, healthy and motivated. Supported by an accessible and respected executive team that focuses on a patient-first culture, Schneck consistently achieves high employee satisfaction scores and reports low turnover rates.

The hospital encourages a healthy work-life balance by providing wellness programs, a robust benefit package and professional development through tuition reimbursement and on-site education.

“An engaged workforce is essential to the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care,” said Joe Cabral, chief human resources officer and president of workforce solutions for Press Ganey. “This year’s award winners have inspired and aligned employees across the enterprise around a shared mission to transform care. We are proud to partner with these leaders and celebrate their achievements.”
