
Legal Aid will provide a free legal aid clinic from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Montgomery, Elsner and Pardieck LLP, 308 W. Second St., Seymour.
The clinic is offered to low-income residents. The Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Program uses local attorneys who volunteer to offer legal consultations and advice.
Individuals coming to the clinic can expect a 10-minute consultation to answer general questions, offer legal information or receive limited pro se assistance or advice.
The clinic will be in-person and be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Preregistration is not required.
Another clinic is set for Oct. 2 at the law office.
Jackson County residents also may visit the monthly clinics from 3 to 5 p.m. July 22 and Aug. 26 at the Legal Aid office in the Bartholomew County United Way Center, 1531 13th St., Suite G330, Columbus, or from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Jennings County Public Library, 2375 N. State Road 3, North Vernon.
Legal Aid is a nonprofit agency providing free civil legal services and lawyer referrals to low-income individuals in Pro Bono District I. Legal Aid serves Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush and Shelby counties.
