Helen I. (Taulman) Dollens 103 of Franklin, IN, formerly of Seymour, IN and Columbus, IN passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 28, 1915 in Edinburgh, IN to Hubert Earl Taulman and Pearl J. (Jones) Taulman. She married William Webb Dollens on June 5, 1937 in Hopewell, IN, he preceded her in death on July 24, 1984.

She was a member of the Whiteland Church of Christ, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 134 in Seymour, IN, a member of the Seymour Elks Lodge #462, and a member of Central Christian Church in Seymour, IN. In Jackson County she served as Vice Precinct Committeeman, a pink lady at Schneck Memorial Hospital, Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout Den Mom. In Bartholomew County she was coordinator for the absentee ballots. After moving to Johnson County she continued to volunteer by crocheting blankets for the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Early in her life she cooked meals for the threshing crews on the farm and was always a mom to many. She enjoyed vacationing in Long Boat Key, Florida.

Survivors include her children George E. Dollens of Columbus, IN, William W. Dollens Jr. (Carolyn) of Franklin, IN, Carol A. Dollens of Franklin, IN, and Linda K. Dollens of Franklin, IN, and brother Marshall Taulman of Columbus, IN. Grandchildren Angela Turnmire (Chris) of Franklin, IN, William Dollens III (Michelle) of Indianapolis, IN., Chris Cross (Gina) of Satellite Beach, FL, and Vickie Eby (Bruce) of Jeffersonville, IN. Great grandchildren Elizabeth Worrell (Brett) of Jacksonville, FL, Daxter, Claire, and Martina Turnmire of Franklin, IN, Gwendolyn Grimes (Parker Jones) of Sharpsville, IN, Ben Grimes of Cincinnati, OH and Michael Cross of Satellite Beach, FL. Great-great grandchildren Rilee, Traxton, and Gracie Jones, Rowan Worrell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Carroll Taulman, grandson Jonathan Dollens, daughter-in-law Mary Ann Dollens, sisters-in-laws Mary Taulman and Mary Catherine Taulman, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Viola Dollens, brother-in-law Paul Holstein and sister-in-law Frances Straley.

Ronnie Hewitt will conduct a service on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 4 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2019 until service time at the mortuary. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
