Seymour police arrested a 28-year-old Jennings County man Saturday morning on three counts of dealing in methamphetamine.
The arrest of Branden Tilden Wood of North Vernon is based upon an investigation into multiple controlled buys of methamphetamine ranging in weight of one to five grams Detective Adam Surface said.
Two of the three counts are Level 4 felonies, punishable by two to six 12 years in prison upon conviction, while the third is a Level 5 felony, punishable by one to six years in prison upon conviction. The level of a felony is determined by the weight methamphetamine purchased during a buy, police said.
Surface said police were able to locate Wood at a local hotel at about 10 a.m. Saturday morning and made the arrest.
The investigation is continuing and police expect to make more arrests, Surface said.
Detective Mike Henley assisted with the arrest.
Wood was booked into Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 10:30 a.m. and being held on a $4,000 bond.
