Wilma Lee Taskey Johnson, 76, of Columbus passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019.
Born February 27, 1943 in Medora, Indiana, she was the daughter of Fred and Lucy Taskey (Darkis). She married William “Bill” Johnson, Jr. on September 26, 1982. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2015.
She graduated from Cortland High School in 1961 and was a member of Ogilville Christian Church. A piano player, seamstress, gardener, square dancer, and camper. Wilma was always actively engaged in her church, family and community.
Wilma is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Mike) Simmons of North Vernon and Melody (David) Smith of Louisville; one son, Richard Trowbridge of Columbus; one brother, Kenneth (Carol) Taskey of Seymour; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Carl Taskey and Robert Taskey, and son-in-law, Michael Simmons.
A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Ogilville Christian Church with Rev. Martin Wright officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana of Ogilville Christian Church.
