A semitrailer hit a utility pole on Sandy Creek Drive on the city’s east side, causing a power outage, officials report.

Chip Orben, government and community relations with Duke Energy, said about 1,100 customers are without power in Seymour.

The power is estimated to be restored at 4:30 p.m., he said.
