Mr. Nolan W. Herkamp, 71, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. He was born in Seymour to the late Harold J. and LaVerne (Otte) Herkamp.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers on Tuesday, June 4 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Wood officiating and Ms. Olga Otte musician. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Borchers.

Family and friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers on Monday from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

On May 27, 1972, he married Carmen Hooker at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers; she survives. Over the years, Nolan was employed with Cummins before moving to Rexnord Bearing where he retired in 2011. He enjoyed farming, NASCAR, reading, and playing Sudoku.

He was a Civil War buff that enjoyed reading about the war, studying the many battles and visiting several battlefields.

Nolan is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carmen Herkamp; children, John (Raylene) Herkamp, Shirley (Mark) Anderson, Paul (Canaan) Herkamp and Shonna Wikel; grandchildren, Isaac, Eli, Violet, Kirsten, Tyler, Wyatt, August, Melody, Max, Shaianna, Breanna and Leaianna; 4 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Doris Kleffman; sister-in-law, Patty Herkamp; and his beloved Yorkie, Shadow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Herkamp; and son-in-law, Tom Wikel.

Memorials may be written to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers or Tri-State Yorkie and Small Breed Rescue (327 South Franklin Street, Oakland City, IN 47660), in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
