Home pesticide use seminar planned

Do you use pesticides around your yard and garden? Do you want to ensure the safety of your family?

If you answered yes to these two questions, then you might want to attend “Best Management Practices for Home Pesticide Use.”

The program will be at 6:30 p.m. May 23 at the Purdue Extension Jackson County office, 111 S. Main St., Suite 10, Brownstown.

This program, presented by Richard Beckort, Jackson County Extension educator for agriculture and natural resources, will cover pesticide safety, proper application and selection and alternative methods of pest control.

With more than 30 years of experience, Beckort will offer insight in the areas of controlling insects, weeds, disease and other pests around the home lawn and garden. This program is open to all.
