Gabriele Isolde Blake, age 72, of Seymour, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Gabriele was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed reading drama, mystery and romance novels.

Born on January 8, 1947, in Freising, Germany, she was the daughter of Helmut and Angela Meinhardt, both of whom preceded her in death. On February 8, 1965, in Kurtz, she married Marvin David Blake and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2010.

Survivors include three sons: Marvin David Blake, Jr., Craig Blake, and Michael Blake, all of Seymour; one daughter, Angela Rucker of Seymour; one brother, Helmut Meinhardt of Freising, Germany; one sister, Elfreide (Erwin) Schwitthale of Freising, Germany; nine grandchildren: Kaleena Lucas, Leslie Richardson, Chase Rucker, Chelsey Blake, Brandi Blake, Rachel Blake, Katelyn Weaver, Jared Blake, and Taylor Blake; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family is honoring the wishes of Gabriele, as she had chosen cremation.
