Jacob Keith, Trinity Lutheran High School golf, senior

Accomplishments this past week: Keith tied the school record for nine holes by scoring 35 at Timbergate in Edinburgh. He was also 5th overall 80 at the Cougar Invitational.

How were you able to perform to your fullest potential this past week?

“I really took my time this week and my scores showed because of it.”

What did you do well?

“I drove the ball well and also putted decently well. Cory Stuckwisch and Popsy (Greg Personett) helped me with my putting stroke/confidence issue I had earlier in the season and now that it is better, everything is clicking.”

Do you do anything special to prepare?

“Usually on the bus rides to away matches, we play Risk on our phones which usually keeps me loose, if not I will just listen to music and get my mind right.”

Favorite drink: Diet Coke

Favorite food: Sushi

Favorite music artist: Joji, but I mostly listen to podcasts

Favorite book: “To a God Unknown,” by John Steinbeck

Favorite class: AP English

Role model: Bill Simmons

Best advice?

“Before every match Popsy says, ‘stay focused.’ Even though it is simple, it works for not only golf but for everyday life. In golf, I have to concentrate and keep a level head, the same can be said for life.”

If you could travel anywhere and why?

“Japan, I love the food and there are a lot of pretty sights and decently nice golf courses I wouldn’t mind playing while I was over there.”

Athletics goals?

“Make it out of sectionals and make it to state.”
