SEYMOUR

Evelyn A. Acton, age 86 of Seymour, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. Born August 29, 1932 in Seymour, she was the daughter of Leo and Mary (Stockdale) Engleking.

Evelyn was a member of the New Beginnings Church of God. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing as well as flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Leo “Buck” (Cathy) Carr of Seymour, John (Wanda) Carr of Scipio, Matilda Mellencamp and Sherri (Brian) Dryer both of Seymour; son-in-law, Tony Andrews of North Vernon; sisters, Luetta Ray, Elizabeth Marshall and Carolyn Jones all of Seymour. Evelyn also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Carr and Willard Acton; children, Alice Smith, Patricia Carr, Raymond Carr and Emma Andrews; siblings, Alberta Davidson, Kenneth Engleking and Leo Engleking.

Pastor Ray Jones will conduct services at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials can be made at the funeral home to the Evelyn Acton Memorial Fund.
