Rain cancels events

All sporting events involving Jackson County high schools were cancelled on Thursday night.

Two events have makeup dates set. Brownstown Central at Seymour tennis will be played on Monday and Crothersville will travel to New Washington for a track and field meet on Thursday.

Tigers have success on the road

CLARKSVILLE

Crothersville’s girls scored 78 points to win a four-way meet at Clarksville Wednesday.

Henryville was second (69 points), South Central finished third (69) and Clarksville was fourth (7) in the girls’ competition.

Kaylyn Holman was a triple winner for the Tigers, taking the 800 (2 minutes, 59 seconds), 1,600 (5:41) and 3,200 (13:20).

The Tigers’ Shea Reynolds won both the shot put (28-1) and discus (71-9).

Kennadi Lakins won the high jump (4-6), Grace Wilson had the best leap in the long jump (13-3 1/2), and Isabell Lewis was first in the 200 (30.25)

CHS also won the 4×800 (11:58) and 4×100 relays (48.19).

Crothersville’s boys were second, scoring 41 points, while Henryville (122) won the meet. South Central was third (35) and Clarksville finished fourth (31).

Dillon Maschino was the winner in the 200 (23.28) and third in the 100 (11.50). The Tigers’ David Rose finished second in the two-mile (11:34) and third in the 1,600 (5:10.31) while teammate Lane Winehorst was runner-up in the 800 (2:10.75).
