Public hearing set for water, sewer rate increases

A public hearing will be conducted at the start of the Crothersville Town Council meeting at 6 p.m. today at the town hall, 111 E. Howard St., Crothersville.

The purpose of the hearing is to give residents an opportunity to ask questions and make comments about the proposed water and sewer rate increases.

The second and final readings for the ordinances to raise the rates will be done later in the meeting. If approved, the rates will go into effect starting with the May bills.

Other agenda items include Aisin Chemical abatements, Walnut Street sewer bid, hiring seasonal help, disposition of old checks and updates from the town’s engineer, police chief, water superintendent, street superintendent and sewer superintendent.

The hearing and meeting are open to the public and press.
