Teen advisory group meeting at Brownstown Public Library

The Teen Readers Advisory Club, also known as the TRAC team, will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Brownstown Public Library, 120 E. Spring St.

The club advises the library on teen interests and trends. Members recommend titles for the young adult collection and suggest ideas for teen programs. Occasionally, members help youth services facilitate programs for other age groups, too.

This program is for teens entering fifth through 12th grades. Participants must have read one book from the young adult collection before each meeting.

During the meeting, each participant will give a brief book talk about their selection. The goal of the talk is to tell enough about the title to encourage fellow teens to read the title without giving away the ending.

Following the talks, teens will have time to socialize, make recommendations for future programs and participate in various group activities. Snacks will be provided during all meetings.

The club also is set to meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 2, June 6, July 11, Aug. 1, Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5.

Registration is required.
