Culvert replacement set for State Road 258

The Indiana Department of Transportation recently announced that contractors will soon begin work to replace three culverts on State Road 258 between Freetown and Cortland, west of Seymour in Jackson County.

State Road 258 will be closed in both directions for approximately 30 days for each replacement; however, only one location will be permitted to be closed at a time.

Work will begin on or after April 1 that will close State Road 258 between County Road 190W and County Road 100W.

The official state highway detour will follow U.S. 50 and State Road 135.

Replacement of the remaining two culverts near White Creek will not begin until after the first replacement is complete and the route reopens to traffic.
