Officers serving a search warrant Wednesday in Country Squire Lakes on North Vernon’s north side wound up arresting three people on various charges.
Charlesa Connette, 57, of North Vernon faces a Level 6 felony charge of possession of methamphetamine, while Randall Sheppard, 54, of North Vernon and Stacie Shelton, 40, of North Vernon both face Class B misdemeanor charges of visiting/maintaining a common nuisance. Sheppard also was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for a Class A misdemeanor charge of theft.
According to a report from Sgt. Andrew Richmond with the North Vernon Police Department, officers arrested the three after serving a warrant at a home on Hawthorne Drive on Wednesday.
The event began when officers received a tip about drug activity at the home. The information was enough for the lead investigator to seek and receive a search warrant for the address, Richmond said.
