Bill and Ruth Bateman of Brownstown will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019.

The couple also plan to celebrate with friends in Florida and with family at a later date.

Bill and the former Ruth Thornton were married Jan. 23, 1959, in Lexington, Kentucky.

They are the parents of four children, Troy (Kristin) Bateman of Channahon, Illinois, Suzanne (Mitch) McAdams of Seymour, Mary Jay (Joe) Rook of Okeana, Ohio, and Holly (Jim) Bennett of Whiteland. They have eight grandchildren.

The couple established Bateman Engineering Co. in Seymour and are both now retired.
