County’s travel status lowered to “advisory”

Commissioners lowered the county’s travel status from a watch to advisory Monday afternoon.

A travel advisory is the lowest level of warning and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation.

Emergency management deputy director Nick Klinger said roads have improved Monday, but some areas may still be slick and snow-covered. He said Tuesday’s expected rise in temperatures should put the roads in better shape.

Temperatures will again remain below freezing overnight before rising into the 40s on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
