Jackson County GAL/CASA is hosting its seventh annual mystery dinner theater Jan. 19 at The Pines Evergreen Room off of U.S. 31 south of Seymour.

With the show "Lights Camera Murder" consisting of a cast of local celebrities, attendees will try to solve the murder mystery to win the $250 first-place prize.

Tickets are $30 per person or corporate tables are available. They need to be purchased in advance and are available at Jackson County GAL/CASA, 113 N. Chestnut St., Suite 305, Seymour, or by calling 812-569-2598.

The doors will open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction throughout the evening, and a cash bar will be available.

Jackson County GAL/CASA is a nonprofit volunteer-powered program that provides advocacy to child victims of abuse and neglect to ensure that they remain at the forefront of the court proceedings and find a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible.

There are 42 volunteers and staff giving a voice to more than 115 children of Jackson County; however, the waitlist continues to grow. Currently, there are 20 children waiting for a CASA volunteer.

If you have five to 10 hours per month to give an abused or neglected child a voice, you could become a CASA volunteer.
