VALLONIA

Berl Robinson, 71, of Vallonia, died at 11:04 a.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Louisville VA Medical Center. He had been ill for 2 1/2 years.

Berl was an Army Veteran. He was a member of the Vallonia Christian Church. He worked for Kieffer Paper Mill for 33 years and then for 7 1/2 years he worked for Valeo. He was a member of the Vallonia Coon Hunters Club. Berl was a 1965 graduate of Brownstown High School.

He was born on May 2, 1947 to the late Merl Lesley Robinson & Jeanette Patton Robinson. On October 17, 1967 in Brownstown, IN Berl married Carol Shell Robinson and she survives in Vallonia. Other survivors include 3 children, Dewey (Susan) Robinson of Freetown, Rhonda Bridgewater of Vallonia, and Murl (Amy) Robinson of Tampico; grandchildren, Annette (Evan) Rainey, Heath (Sammi) Jones, Caitlyn Bridgewater, Mikayla Jones, Mallorie Robinson, Tristan & Cooper Robinson; great grandchildren, Briar & Cullen Rainey, Lilly Jones & Gunner Hunnicutt; brother’s, Larry (Janice) Robinson & Lesley Pete (Anita) Robinson both of Vallonia; 2 sister’s, Joan (Jack) Marcott & Becky (Kenny) Eastham both of Vallonia.

Berl was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 children, Billie Jones and Berl Robinson Jr.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home with Chris Criminger officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery with full military graveside rites.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Norton Cancer Institute.

Berl loved to fish, hunt, & watch races, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He did not know a stranger and welcomed anyone into his home. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
