Redeemer Ladies Tea held Dec. 1

0

The seventh annual Redeemer Lutheran Church Ladies Christmas Tea was held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1.

The tea began in 2010 to held support the missions of Redeemer Lutheran Church. They currently support Heart-4-Haiti, 4KenyasKids and Crosslife Ministries. They also support seminary students from Redeemer who are entering the Holy Ministry.

The focus of the tea is to put the true meaning of Christmas, "Jesus", in the hearts of those who attend. As the date is at the beginning of Advent, it highlights the "reason for the season" in a Christian perspective.

This year’s theme was "Carols."

The tea consisted of a Christ-centered program, readings and the history of traditional Christmas songs. The program closed with a meal, door prizes and a drawing for a handmade quilt.

Pastors Andrew Currao and Joseph Barlau and many others were thanked for supporting the event

Next year’s tea will be Dec. 7 with the theme "Mary Ponders." The tea is for all ladies, young and old, and open to the public.
