Tayler Garland recently received the Brownstown Exchange Club’s October Youth of the Month award.

The Brownstown Central High School senior and daughter of Pat and Barbara Garland of Vallonia received the award from Kevin Gwin during a club meeting. Gwin, a teacher at the school, is a member of the club’s youth of the month committee.

Garland is a member of student council and secretary of the senior class. Her other school activities include volleyball, basketball, softball and track and field.

Garland thanked the club for the award and said she will attend Indiana University for speech and language pathology.
