The Brownstown Central Community School Corp. board of trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the superintendent’s office, 608 W. Commerce St., Brownstown.

That meeting along with a work session at 6:30 p.m. are open to the public and press. Then there will be an executive session, closed to the public and press, at 7 p.m. during which trustees will receive information about prospective employees and discuss individuals over whom the governing body has jurisdiction.

The regular meeting agenda starts with Students of the Month and a high school presentation. Trustees also will hear the second reading and consideration of revisions to policies on ethics, personal background checks and criminal history information for applicants, contractors and school employees.

The board also will hear the first reading and consideration of revisions to policies on substitute teachers, drug and alcohol testing of bus drivers, a drug-free workplace, medical needs at school, drug prevention and drug testing, a no-tobacco policy and student records.

Other agenda items include consideration of the transfer of funds within their appropriation limits and pay outstanding claims within the limits of appropriated balances for 2018, administrator contracts, Dave Hall addressing the board, high school baseball head coach Brandon Tormoehlen speaking about baseball field seating and the three school principals giving reports.

The board typically meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, but this month’s meeting was moved up a day because of a girls basketball game being played Tuesday night.
