Ladies Aid 3 meets at Immanuel Lutheran Church

Ladies Aid 3 of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour met Oct. 16.

The meeting was opened with the verses 1 and 2 of Hymn 527 and the reading of Psalm 70.

The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg had the topic for the evening. He distributed literature with some facts about Lutherans in Russia.

The group was privileged to host missionary the Rev. Leif Camp and the Rev. Yaroslav Boychenko on Oct. 21. They are visiting the United States to raise awareness and funds for the building of a church for the Nizhny Novgorod parish. The projected cost of the building will be $750,000.

Camp gave the sermons Oct. 21, a presentation of their work and surroundings in Russia between services. Boychenko is an accomplished pianist and a lover of Bach music and gave a concert at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21.

Blomenberg closed with prayer, and the group closed with the Lord’s Prayer.

The minutes were read, and a correction was reported.

The stadium cushions have been selected as a project and already voted on. Also, a picture of a maroon tote bag with an Immanuel Lutheran Church emblem will be sold by the group. Minutes were corrected, and the motion was made and passed.

The treasurer’s report with given by Rosalie Grabinski.

Ann Mahan and Sharon Klakamp had visitation in September, and Grabinski and Evelyn Krebs gave a report for October visits.

Sandi Helwig reported on the booths for the Nov. 3 craft show. Publicity will be in surrounding Lutheran church bulletins, local newspapers and radio stations. Grabinski reminded members of the foods for which they had signed.

Mahan reported on the Christmas party, and a sign-up sheet will be available at the November meeting.

Monetary donations will be given to the member’s preference for anniversaries celebrated this year. The cheer committee will take care of this.

The mite collection was taken and will be given to the church’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

A list of recipients of the yearly donations was distributed to members present and will be voted on in November.

Mahan introduced her guest, Cristyn Milroy, and Linda Abraham was the guest of Grabinski. The guests were welcomed.

Mahan and Norma Kilgas were hostesses, and Klakamp and Krebs will be hostesses in November.
