Uniontown church invites veterans to breakfast

Uniontown Baptist Church will host a veterans appreciation breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 10 at the church, 2623 S. U.S. 31, Uniontown.

All veterans are encouraged to eat breakfast free of charge and enjoy fellowship.

The menu includes biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, coffee, juice and milk.

Pastor Irvin Benge, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps for nearly 16 years, and his wife, Jill, hosted the popular Veterans Memorial Motorcycle Ride for several years as president of Born Again Motorcycle Ministry. They were instrumental in raising money to help disabled veterans and helping other small towns build veterans memorials.

Since returning to Uniontown Baptist Church in 2009, they have hosted free meals in honor of all veterans.

The church currently has seven members who are veterans, serving in either the Air Force, Army, Marines or Navy.
